Keeping fit is very important for most people, and if you are overweight, my guess is you are looking to slim down. The best way to do this is to incorporate workouts that burn fat quickly into your exercise regimen. There are certain great exercises you can perform that are assured to help you to burn calories and fat in a relatively short amount of time. Make sure to get together with a friend or two so that you can find mutual motivation to get yourself going.
Running is a great way to burn fat quickly. You can perform a brisk run or a somewhat slower jog and find yourself sweating in no time, burning calories and fat. You can time yourself and use a pedometer or a running app on your smartphone or iPod touch while running as well. Make sure to perform a few good stretching exercises prior to your run, and always wear a comfortable and appropriate pair of sneakers that are in good condition and that offer good support to your feet and ankles.

Jumping rope is not usually thought of much when considering losing weight and burning fat. However, it is a superb aerobic activity that can get your heart rate up, your blood pumping and the muscles in your lower body toned. In turn, the movement also burns fat, and when performed regularly, it can do so quickly. This is the type of exercise you can make really fun by performing it with your kids or friends.
Squats are a great exercise that can quickly burn fat and tone up your lower body. Specifically, your thighs, glutes and hips will get a great workout and can help you to develop more muscle in these areas. Make sure to perform an aerobic activity afterward if you don’t want to build bulk.

However, if you are not the most athletic type but are planning on burning fat and losing weight, walking is your best bet. It is easy and brings you results quickly. Make sure to drink plenty of water before going for a walk so that you stay hydrated and retain your energy.
Lunges, much like squats, work out your lower body. Your legs in particular will get quick results of being toned up. It can burn fat quickly when you perform the exercise on a regular basis.
A general aerobic workout that pushes you with a variety of different exercises, even if they are low-impact, is a great way to burn fat. Invest in a good DVD that shows great routines, tune in to FitTV if your cable company brings you the channel or join a gym if you can afford it to get in this workout.
Following all of these great workouts at least three times per week for a half hour per day will produce satisfactory results in a fairly quick period of time. You will find yourself slimming within weeks when you do the workouts correctly.
