1. Ginger

You can add it to foods, beverages or even make a tea with it.

2. Red Grapes

red grapesRed grapes are an excellent source for resveratrol that helps to block the particular enzymes that can cause tissue to degenerate. Research has shown that resveratrol helps to prevent cartilage damage that could lead to back pain. Also, as a flavonoid, resveratol is offers protection against heart disease. For example, French have a lower chance of suffering from heart conditions than other populations because of their consumption of red wine and red grapes.

3. Soy

Soy is a great source for isoflavones. As a non-animal source, soy is high in nutritional value and contain eight of the essential amino acids, which makes it the only complete plant protein. The plant’s hormones act as an anti-inflammatory in the body and can reduce osteoarthritis pain by about 30 percent or more. Research shows that by people eating 40 grams of the soy protein each day for 90 days patients could eliminate half of their pain medications. There are many ways to eat this amount of soy each day including edemames, tofu and soy-based protein supplements just to mention a few ways.

4. Cherries

Cherries are potent foods in the fight against pain. These contain antioxidants known as anthocyanins, which relieve pain. A study was performed where people ate 45 Bing cherries each day for 28 days. It was found that these people decreased their inflammation in a significant way. A pill made with tart cherry was found to decrease pain in over half of the patients in a study not yet published. The anthocyanins can also be found in strawberries, raspberries and blackberries.
